Lyrics:

Transliteration:

Pra tavo katorava lyublila
Pra tavo tchi pisma birigla

Ty liti za yasnym soltsim fslyet
I voytsu dalyech pagraduchye
Ot katyushi pirigay privyet

Pust' islychit, kak ana payot

A lyubov' katyusha sbirizhot

Rastvitali yablani i grusha
Paplyli tumani nat rikoy
Vykhadila na byerik katyusha
Na vysoky byerik na krutoy

English:
Apple trees and pear trees went into blooming,
River mists began a floating flow,
She came out and went ashore, Katyusha!
On the lofty bank, on the steeply shore.

She came out and sang she song about
Her young friend, the bluish eagle from steppe
All about the one she dearly loved,
The one whose letters she treasured and kept.

Hey, a song, the song of the young girl,
Fly and go after the bright Sun,
Find a soldier on the distant borderlands
Say hello from Katya waiting long for him.

Let him remember the young and simple maiden,
Let him hear the song she now sings,
Let him protect his Motherland for sure,
And their love Katyusha will protect.

I love how a Russian song about a young woman waiting for her loved one to come back from the war turned into a world wide song about a soviet missile truck.

This is first serious song that my parents teached me. I'm literally crying listening this song now. Someone may endlessy make fun out of "propaganda" and "soviet era" but for many russians this song touches heart very deep. Thank you for piano version!

Katyusha is the soft version of name Katya (Kate)
And also soviet car with artillery on top of it

As a little kid straight from Moldova and didn’t know that it was ran as a part as the USSR, without knowing this I didn’t have a clue how my parents knew Russian too, my father would always play this song and we would dance, not know the name, and yet over 13 years later I found it😁

Apple blossoms and pears blossomed,
Fogs floated over the river.
Katusha came ashore,
To the high bank on the steep.

Coming out, the song started
About the steppe blue eagle,
About the one whom she loved,
About the one whose letters were taken care of.

Oh, you, song, a song of a girl,
You fly behind the clear sun
And a fighter on the far border
From Katyusha, say hello.

Let him remember the girl simple,
Let him hear how she sings,
Let him take care of the land,
And Katyusha will save her love.

Apple blossoms and pears blossomed,
Fogs floated over the river.
Katusha came ashore,
To the high bank on the steep.

Some people call me a grammar nazi.

Really, I'm a grammar communist. I want everyone to have equally good grammar, WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT

Katyusha singing Katyusha while riding in a Katyusha is like sweet poison for the German Army.

I tried to sing along....

But then I realized this version is twice as long as the actual song; so I kinda just awkwardly hummed with the second half.

For some reason, listening to this take on the song with just a sole piano stirs more of my soul than a whole band and quire ever did. Maybe it's just the harmony between each hand and the extra flourishes that are simply impossible to coordinate between 50 people, or the dark texture and tone of the piano, but what's for sure is that the dedication put towards making this composition was immense.
Thank you for this extra addition to Youtube, it really made my day.
