I’m a true believer this year. I (accidentally) used a higher spreader setting when I put it down and only got about 3/4 of my lawn covered. Boy I tell you what, there’s a obvious difference between the turf that got the hydretain and the area that didn’t.

I found the best way to retain moisture during a drought is to not cut the lawn. Leave it at 4 inches. It provides a canopy preventing evaporation. My lawn stayed green while other lawns cut at 2 inch height dried up and went dormant.

Used in a Spring Branch Houston Yard and its high soily composition / no clay. It helped last year but wasn't a miracle. I may try again this yesr

I have used the granular this year. When we had our heat wave I still had hot spots in my usual places. Probably due to compaction or rocks in those areas. Then we had more rain than usual for June and July and it's doing much better. I would say a combination of both and I use it more frequently with lower doses.

Just applied my second full dose of granular Hydretain on Wednesday. It has work great since April. Only problem area is my little strip area but I know it's because of the sprinkler coverage in that small section. Definitely prefer the granular over the liquid.

Used it up here in New England on cool season grass…of course so far in July we have over 9 inches of rain! To much rain actually but also days of heat and humidity. So far so good, green and growing. Added fungicide this weekend as a preventative due to access rain, humidity, and days of heat.

Around 25c here during summer but at night from about 22.00-08.00 lawn is always damp because 80-90% humidity outside. I feel that hydretain would be perfect for me!
