Lets take a look how the nox and deus compare in a extreme depth test, coins buried on the edge of detection, who wins???? you decide.

There is a sweet spot for recovery speed on the Nox for any particular ground conditions and lower is not necessarily better. 4 is usually around the best setting. Also there is and ideal coil size for each condition. I would use the larger coil there.
Also Park 1 and particularly Park 2 is deeper and gives cleaner signals in magnetic ground. For any ground there is a better setting. I would be using Park 2 or Park 1 on that field. But would also try other modes if not getting finds. Beach maybe. But field 1 and 2 for ploughed looking for hammered or ‘Beach for land’. Good test though.

That’s the way a comparison test should be done! Give both detectors a fair chance by tweaking the settings., not just picking a mode and calling it a test. Nice job.

Dropping recovery speed to 1 on the nox is not helping, leaving it at 5 would have given a better response by just upping sensitivity in round 2 👍

Great film about depth testing between two of the best detectors on the market now .. But there is a significant price difference between these. And there's a big difference between them in terms of usability, but that's my opinion ;) But in this round, Deus was the best when it comes to depth.. (But it did not differ that much, I think :) )

To me, even living here in the US, your tests so far seem to be the most honest, accurate tests done. You even try to adjust the Equinox for max performance, whereas another tester here, mainly seems to push one machine over the other, without making any adjustments for better performance. Greetings, I'm also impressed. But the thing is, both maschines get the signals, I think the deus does it better because of the audio, and also the deus runs factory from the reaction settings, I think on 2, 5 or 3 on general an in relic 2. There are much room for more deept if you set the reaction on 1 or 0. And also in a video from Garry Blackwell he says that you have to groundbalance the deus every time 🤔The nox runs later on 1 and had a bit of struggling, I use the nox and the old Deus also and personally a recovery speed from 4 is the way I go with my nox. 3, 2, 1 I don't like its to slow and in iron you can't win with the slow reaction. For me these very low recovery speeds are not comfortable.

Also I like the nox but the build quality is not the best. Musst buy an aftermarket stem, coil ears break after one year. The armcup breaks also. But I have payed 950 euro, its okay not the best of quality but its okay. On the other side I think the deus 2 is to expensive. 1600 euro with one coil.. And when you need the smaller or bigger one another 300-400 euro. Hmm 1200 to 1400 is a prize I would paying for but not 1600. I don't see the advantage over the nox or the nokta legend that is worth the much bigger prize..

park 1, all metal, sensitivity 18 - 22, recovery 3 to 5, iron 3 _ 0, 15" coil...ground balance...off you go !...i do like the deus tones tho...won't be selling my Nox anytime soon ! well done you 2...all the best GL&HH Gordon

One really impressive thing for me is that on both machines the factory pre-sets are excellent. ……I have custom programs on my Deus 1 (Calabash Diggers Pitch program is the one I use the most) but the FMF on the Deus 2 seems to negate the need ……I can see me buying one, using Relic with pitch and being happy.

No doubt the Deus 2 may have slightly better sounds here and there but for the extra cost I would be shocked if it didn’t. I will say that the control box software certainly looks a lot better than the Deus 1. For me there isn’t much in it but I do wish I had the money for a Deus 2 as a disabled detectorist I’d love the light weight of the Deus.

The Deus sounded very chattery too and expensive but still came out well in the test. Tip on the Nox: I use the manual setting to eliminate EMI, I detect under power lines. The Nox is much cheaper and still gives great performance. It takes time to understand the Nox. Most people can’t understand they often need to use Park 2 or 1 on fields.

I have a Deus hf as well as the nox 800 the Deus I can swing all day and only about 2 hours on the nox it's a great machine the weight, build quality and ease of use are where it falls short . I will be getting a Deus 2 it's light easy to use and comfortable for all day use and now water proof thanks for the video Here in the US these machines behave differently than the UK you guys have better soil conditions so different results

i use gold mode all the time it doesn't have to be super clean if you have the horseshoe (iron) off

Thanks for the video. Beach 2 lowers the transmitter power, Beach 1 land would likely be a good comparison for the Deus 2.
