Tammy, I love watching your videos! Time spent with you IS fun! Haha. Great video. I have the original Empress. I tried it with the Gemini Foilpress. It does work. However, I always got a big ka thunk at the end. If I remember correctly, it was a tad thick for the Empress. I used the Gemini double sided cutting plate instead of the foil press plate. Can't wait to see your results.

Great video. Thought I would let you know that covering the magnetic plate in Press n Seal and cleaning with alcohol is no problem with the Press n Seal on it. Also works on the Betterpress magnetic plate. Then on your Empress cover your magnetic plate with Press n Seal and all your intricate die pieces that fall onto the plate and sometimes stick brush right off. I do have to change the Press n Seal on the Empress because of the die blades but not that often. That has been a game changer for me. It's been slow to catch on but wonderful.

Tammy, thanks so much for purchasing these items and for your in-depth honest reviews! 👏🏻. I bought this system but haven’t used it yet so I appreciate your testing the product!! I did watch several videos by Sara Davies and Crafter’s TV Masterclass episode 19 and they showed foiling with these Letterpress plates and also used a foiling plate to Letterpress. I can see that the foiling plates don’t hold as well to the magnetic base and they don’t ink as well as letterpress plates because they aren’t designed for that, but they can be used.

Have resisted purchasing the SB Betterpress, but thought this CC bundle super inclusive for the price - really good deal… selling point #2 - made for running through an electric vs. manual machine… selling point #3 - it’s a single, compact unit! AND perfect results from the get go. A very happy purchase for me.

I'd never have known about this system without you.
Carissa Wiley uses a piece of tape across the bottom of her magnetic plate & the bottom of the letter press "machine" to stop the movement. That way you can stamp again on the same design.

She just mentioned that the Gemini Junior will work with the letterpress. I ordered it from Crafters Companion for around $90. Much more affordable than the regular Gemini!

Sad that this doesn’t work in the Original Gemini. So many of us can’t afford to buy new machines in order to use these new pieces. Great review. Thank you for taking your time to share with us. 🙋🏻‍♀️❤️🤗 I use alcohol pads and also Dawn Power Spray wash to clean my ink off of my stamping platforms. Please let Crafter’s Companion Customer Service know…send them an email with a picture.

Maybe use a layer of plastic wrap to protect the plate from ink. Then just replace plastic as needed

What a great idea to try the Empress. Can you run the new Crafter's Companion Letterpress through your old Empress. I would love to know it it works. I can't afford to upgrade my Empress right how but would like to try the new letterpress from Crafter's Companion.

Hi FYI on the Spellbinders Betterpress the Simon Says Stamp or LDRS Creative Ultra Cleaner works to clean up your plates and Platen. You can also cover your platen with paper to avoid the staining...if it bothers you.
