Thank you guys for watching this again as well as the amazing Mrs WiseFish for writing up the script for me. My writing isn’t always the best so I’m glad you guys are enjoying these recent videos she’s helped me make!

You know you’re the bad guys when you have a device called “Soul Killer” and your head of security is general grievous with rocket launchers instead of lightsabers

Tbh, Arasaka is more like an empire rather than a megacorporation.

Whats crazy is the fact that someone in Arasaka made an autonomous self replicating sea mine. The possibilities of that tech alone is endless.

its a fucking crime you can't betray Hanako during her route to clean the entire saka board leading in to a corpowar with militech nuking them much more literally than johnny ever could.

Arasaka, aka the Neo-Imperial Japanese Empire.

In the new Cyberpunk book, No Coincidence, their is a line that says once you die, it's game over, no back ups, nothing. I immediately thought of Arasaka. Everyone knows about Soulkiller and Secure your Soul. This means Saburo Arasaka can live forever kinda like a God while the average citizen dies every day. Real scary stuff.

It is interesting how the events of Cyberpunk 2077 could cripple Arasaka more than any war could. Yorinobu's coup and the internal power stuggle leaves it dangerously vulnerable to everyone, most of all Militech.

It is telling how the only ending where Arasaka is able to avoid catastrophic losses is when you pursue the Devil Ending and return everything back to the status quo.

Arasaka, From humble beginnings to a fractured yet insanely powerful mess

I would imagine Arasaka have powerful AIs that they kept secretly in Mikoshi are name after Japanese Gods given how Saburo wants Japan to be above everyone else

I love how these corporations are portrayed in the cyberpunk story, it’s not too far fetched that we could see business become powerful enough to cut out the government and millatarize

Boy I sure hope this nice company doesn’t start any wars or anything

It's real entertaining because Johnny Silverhand and Yorinobu Arasaka's goals are compatible with each other.

It's so depressing that they market immortality, but ONLY for the top 1%, and not even TRUE immortality. All the while, the real technology is kept only for the Arasaka's. They really commissioned immortality and kept it for themselves.

Wisefish: Arasaka army was hiding across the world in countries like Slovakia...

Notably Spider Murphy "persuaded" Kei to commit suicide because she was happy to help him along if he didn't.

I know this Cyberpunk fanfic that has its versions of V (Male and Female twins) have a personal history with and a grudge against Araska as well as a connection to Night Corp.

It’s called Night City: Legacy.

The surname Arasaka (荒坂) means "rough mountain" or "rough slope." It is believed that Mr. Pondsmith chose this name for the fictional corporation because it is similar to Arisaka (有坂) meaning “mountain-possessor” -- the surname of a very prominent Japanese firearms designer. The son of that designer established the Arisaka Rifle Manufacturing Company in 1908, which operated until 1945.

Personally, I speculate that the reference to a “rough slope" in the fictional Arasaka Corporation's name could be a metaphor for Japan's challenging journey of postwar socioeconomic recovery -- and then, in the Cyberpunk world, a second journey arising from all the spiraling consequences of the Crash of 1994.

1:37 In pronouncing the word “Tokyo, ” the correct pronunciation does not include any kind of “i” sound. This is a common mistake.

For those interested, Tokyo was ORIGINALLY called Edo (江戸), which was a compound of 江 e ("cove, inlet") and 戸 to ("entrance, gate, door”). That can be translated as "estuary”, and is a reference to the original settlement's location at the meeting of the Sumida River and Tokyo Bay. However, during the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the name of the city was changed to Tokyo, a compound of 東 tō (“east"), and 京 kyō ("capital”).

I wonder how Phantom Liberty will change Arasaka's future if Militech can get a hold of V. It's starting to make sense why Johnny would not be in support of an idea that involves getting in the same bed with Militech. V could share the same fate as Johnny. V wouldn't be queen of the Afterlife, nor would she run away with the Aldecaldos, but could die in the middle of battle, and be a casualty of war. That would be pretty interesting, a true blaze of glory ending. Im getting off the rails here but this video got me pondering.
