In this video we take a look at some filament that I have been printing with non stop for the past week. Duramic 3D asked if I was interested in trying out their new PLA and PET-G so I spent 100 hour putting it through its paces. The end result is filament that I am very happy with and 5 gorgeous vases.

Do you feel filament brands can effect print quality due to poor quality of the PLA/PETG?

I wonder if they stopped doing the build sheet because in this video he got build sheets, in the reviews, some of them showed build sheets but then when I got mine (got 3 spools) they didn't come with any. The filament seems good so far so it's fine.

If your camera offers color calibration I recommend tweaking that. My monitors have all been color calibrated using X-Rite so I know what I am seeing is true color, and your saying that red is a deep red but it comes across as more of an off orange color. Sure its not that big of a deal but worth looking into and most cameras these days come with some sort of calibration tools, or ability to tweak settings for them to get better color information. Regardless, thanks for the review, I am shopping for some better filament and this stuff might just be what I am looking for.

So far as what I am looking for in reviews for filament and yes please do more, are details regarding tolerances. To few reviews I find go into much detail on tolerance, warping factors and shrinkage and its frustrating and expensive to buy only to discover it sucks for what I need. I print with very tight tolerances and need a product that has low shrinkage or at least consistent so that I can calculate and build with that in mind. Also in the case of this review I missed if you touched on bed adhesion and how well it holds to the bed plate?

So a year later. Just got a roll of white PETG on Amazon seems PETG ranges from $18-$23 loads of colors. Packaging is great tightly wrapped. The little thank you/ support card is a nice touch. Will be testing it later today but for $18 I can’t complain. Hopefully the quality is the same as it was a year ago

I have a small print farm. I bought 2 rolls, it's actually pla+. I went back and bought 40 rolls of grey and black.
Thanks for the video.

I backed the Creality Ender 6 SE on kickstarter. This will be my first 3D printer so until I get used to this cool new 3D world, I am going to be buying the best budget filaments. I would love to see more videos like this that help the those out there who can't afford the high falootin filaments that cost $30 or more a spool like ProtoPasta! I will definitely be checking out Duramic though, so thanks for the suggestion.

Would you still recommend this filament?

I thought the point of the “Benchy” is to benchmark printer/slicer/prints with common features that can produce poor quality or show where tuning is needed? Seems like the perfect test for filament. We could see what filament was stringy or had poor sticking or good overhang. Either way, good review and I appreciate the time and effort.

I think filament brands should publish how much there spool weighs on it, that way you can weigh your roll of filament and then just subtract or tare out the weight of the empty spool and know pretty much spot on how much filament you have on the roll.

Okay I like your video, but what I'm looking for is a recommendation for petg that's not too expensive but has a mass of variety of colors in clear and solids, any suggestions.
Typically I use eSun.

Great info. I was considering buying some of this filament and your review tipped the balance. Also, true story - I met you at the Matter Hacker booth at FabTech last year and you and your colleagues had some good advice. I'd had bad luck with some cheap Chinese clone printers and you folks pretty much to a "T" had recommended an Ender 3. I actually ended up buying a Prusa i3MK3s kit and I've been using the hell out of it recently. Check my stuff out on Instagram under this same user name. Been doing some pretty cool stuff with printing museum fossil scans. Anyway, great advice when we talked at FabTech and great advice here. I plan on checking out more of your content - consider me subscribed!

great vid shilling for them. They include their print pad to use, which is almost great except filament sticks to it to the point that it's impossible to tear it off. After a few prints the pad was completely torn after trying to get printed things off it. Trying to stick it to regular bed or tape is impossible. I've used monoprice and since they are out stock tried this. Terrible filament.
