Requires a converter to be used on PS5

It plugs into the usb port on the side of the controller

I also got psyopped into buying one of these, and I'm so glad I did. Here in Europe, the hitbox style controller options are not great; you have a few small custom builders and one or two guys on etsy making affordable keyboxes, that's about it. Every few months I look to see if there's something new and I come across this, also thinking that this has to be a scam lol. But sure enough, these things DELIVER. In hindsight, the fightstick/hitbox market is completely screwed; a modified keyboard with fewer buttons and a cheap chip inside should not be running 250+ bucks, period. Some have additional features and whatnot, but there's no reason for a snackbox, for example, to be so damn expensive. So glad that a company like Haute is coming along to inject some sanity into the pricing model of this industry.

Nerd emoji says: Sanwa buttons (all old arcade buttons) are also mechanical. They have a mechanical switch inside which is similar to keyboard switches. There are different types of keyboard mechanical switches so no reason to call arcade buttons non-mechanical really

With that being said, controllers with extra buttons are a blessing. Games allow us to bind more buttons for years. Now we can finally do it on hitbox controllers. Good review and thanks for telling people about this type of "extended" controllers

Just got a G13 version of this (the mini version) and it just works.
No hang ups, no crazy hoops to jump through, the controller came with a USB-C to USB-A cable, the instructions, an extra switch in case one breaks, and a switch removal tool.
The RGB lights are easy to adjust, switch colors, and turn on or off. It has TWO USB-C ports, one on the side, one on the top - and they both work so you can choose if you want the cable to hang off of the side or the front of the stick - VERY nice quality of life feature.
I do agree that the buttons feel a little loose, but they are still very responsive and have a good action under them thanks to the Red Switches. Its just in their resting position they can move a bit, but when its action time - they do the job.
Extra caps from Haute are dirt cheap, and its just regular mechanical keyboard switches, so you can just buy them 3rd party if you want as well.
The ability to just simply take out the screws and put in whatever art you want on the stick is awesome. A little bonus too - is that you can place art on the bottom of the stick as well - so you can have one piece of art taking the buttons into consider at the top, and a full sized panel piece of art on the bottom if you'd like. Representing two mains has never been easier :)
Overall, love this controller.

I was gonna buy the smaller g16 but the dimensions on this one actually look very good at a glance. Also holy moly the value of these controllers with the extra buttons etc. too, I'm excited for the age of affordable arcade controllers!

I like your "it's punching weigh above its weight" line. Really good controllers pound for pound. Nice review!

Thank you so much for talking about the hitbox resetting your SOCD every time it's unplugged... so exhausting having to remember to switch to the correct SOCD during every session of SF.

I've been thinking a lot about getting this model, and bam... you upload a video about it that's crazy.

If memory serves me, that USB expansion port on the side of the controller can also be used to jack in a MagicBoots PS4 1.1 dongle, and you can configure PS Passthrough mode in the settings, which lets you get around using a Brook adapter or dealing with uploading your own auth keys to get around the 8 minute timeout. These Haute42 leverless controllers are a great piece of kit at their price point.

I just ordered mine, I cant wait! Ive been getting used to the hitbox style with my keyboard on SF6 (using space as up) and Im finally ready to take the plunge I think, I'm so glad I did a bit more research and found this, I was about to go with a snackbox, which seems way to similar, all in all, to spend 3x as much, plus I like the idea of the extra buttons for parry and drive impact, also whatever you could use them for in Tekken which I'm learning as well. Great video and review.

It's always amazed me how expensive these sticks are, I always put it down to the PCB being the main cost. But $70 is ana amazing price for any controller

The smaller buttons and tighter spacing are the reasons I bought a haute42 controller, in spite of having a DIY leverless with brook board at home that I've build. I quickly realized that I absolutly despise sanwa style buttons as direction buttons, they are either way to loose or need too much force to press down. I don't know, I play piano and guitar, my fingers are strong but the travel time is too much for my personal taste. The low profile keyboard style switches are just perfect for leverless controllers in my opinion, especially for the direction buttons! Also, due to the rings on the sanwa style buttons, there's a minimum spacing you have to have on the layout, you only get tighter spacing with keyboard style switches which in my opinion is essential with 16 buttons controller!

Also, maybe it's just me, but the s16 has the perfect size for me, if I'm sitting on my bed, legs crossed, perfect plattform to play. On my lap, I use my left pinky finger and a small part of my right hand to secure the controller, works like a charm!

Hey Andy another great review, I'm waiting for mine to arrive, fun fact the one that I ordered from Amazon, is kinda branded differently, it's the sehawie arcade stick, also it has slightly different menu buttons, and please review the punk workshop next cheers.

Thanks for saving me $300. I'm picking up the t-16 from Amazon. If I like it I'll be grabbing the M-Series soon.

Wonderful review. A pleasure to listen to, multifaceted. And with no copy paste lo fi hip-hop for no reason, too. Thanks.

I'm looking at the S version cause I don't think these large buttons are a good idea.

The Haute42 products really are picking up steam, and honestly it feels like its deserved, great price and checks all the boxes. Personally im gonna stick to my Panzer 4 lol. Also I use a gp2040 and I dont have to set up SOCD everytime i plug in the device, might just be a hitbox pcb thing.

I have the T16 and the G16. They are both better than sticks that cost triple the price.
