If we're opening this can of worms, when is smogon addressing the fact that in Gen 4 you can use the passing frames in game to determine the exact hp Stat of your opponent when you hit them or they take chip (sand hazard)

A few: Draco Meteor Jirachi comes in a cherish ball, Wish Blissey only comes in a Pokeball, and Magic Guard Clefable with Softboiled can only come from Gen 3, so these last two would be locked to only gen 3 pokeballs.

Also apparently Nasty Plot Celebi is event locked

You also wouldn't be able to put Seismic Toss Blissey in a Heal Ball in gen 4, because Seismic Toss is a gen 3 tutor move and Heal Ball is a gen 4 ball. Just thought I'd remind everyone.

the jirachi in gen 3 example is extremely bizarre because it's the only case i know of in which showdown acknowledges the limited number of possible IV/nature combinations available to legendary pokemon in older generations. for example, it's literally impossible to acquire a modest 31/0/31/31/31/31 legendary in any gen 3 game, but nobody cares when you use that on suicune. while it's true that shiny jirachi availability is much more limited than other legendaries, showdown for some reason only allows wishmaker (the USA colo DLC event jirachi) IV spreads and completely ignores the pokemon channel jirachi, which is the other jirachi in gen 3 that can be shiny. if you're going to limit it even more than is necessary, why bother? it doesn't make any sense to me.

Before Gen 6, all bred pokemon were always in a pokeball. So ths would mean egg moves could only ever be in poke balls unless they are obtainable in other events or special encounters.

How was the date? What's her name? and what are her thoughts on the current OU meta

i feel like the most graceful solution would be to just add an icon that indicates the opposing pokemon could be the event version, so any shiny rash natured raikou in gen 4 would get that icon to indicate that it is the raikou who can learn aura sphere or e speed. i doubt they'll do anything tho, since this is mostly just edge cases in old gens

worth mentioning about shinies that you can't see them on team preview, they always show up as non-shiny in team preview even if they're shiny, you used to be able to but something to do with what you were talking about made them change it

...whch makes me sad because I used to like to make teams that all looked the same color for coolness, seeing them all in a line being blue or white or w/e

I just think it would be cool since all pokeballs have a unique particle effect. It would be cool to use a peliper in a dive ball, or a creselia in a dream ball, or a darkrai in a dusk ball, ect. I know it's a lot to implement on showdown but I really want it.

They Landorus thing was because the Sheer Force ones had to have been caught in the Dream Radar AR game and were always in Dream Balls
