LEGO Star Wars Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter (Azure Angel) review! set 75087

The reason I believe this doesn't have Clone Wars style faces that we're used to seeing with LEGO is because this set is the first LEGO Star Wars set based on the 2003 Clone Wars series, not the 2008 Clone Wars series, where all the LEGO Clone Wars sets have been based on up until this set. The 2003 series doesn't have that CGI look that LEGO was trying to portray with the minifigures based on the 2008 series.

I find it very odd that LEGO have decided to finally release a set based upon the Clone Wars microseries. They're about 12 years too late. Oh well, the ship looks very nice and the figures seem great.

Beautiful looking set. Much prefer the round bubble cockpit canopy compared to the old models.

They should have made more are a from the 2003 clone wars when they made this set. I wanted summa them classic arc troopers.

About the only thing that could have made that Anakin figure better is if the secondary face with the angry look also had his scar. In the episode where he chases Ventress, that's where he gets the scar, and it would be really cool to be playing with it and then during the battle have Ventress "strike" his face, then be able to turn it around and have it be angry and scarred.

It's like Anakin took his pod racer engines and slapped a starship on top of them. Love it! However, Cockpit console should've been a printed piece.

This is a beautiful and memorable star fighter, I remember watching the cartoon when I was a kid and it always fascinated me how the two round hyper drives were at the front. I highly recommend Lego to recreate the cartoon in Lego.
