A quick solve demo of the eX-Mars Robot Smartcube from South Korea. This feature is called "solve motored scramble in normal mode".

In all our years of cubing, we never thought we'd be playing with a self-scrambling robot 3x3. Even though recognition is different (and difficult) on this cube, the experience is super immersive and crazy fun!

Let us know if you'd like to see a more detailed review! Apparently, this cube can also become an alarm clock and intelligence dice.

What's the point in motorizing the sides so it can scramble itself? It can scramble itself just by changing the lights.

I want this! I know a lot of people don’t seem to think it would be good for “serious” cubing, but assuming you can turn the sound off, it would be super cool to have a cube that works in the dark!

Wow. Isnt the advantage of taking a cube with me that it doesnt have a battery, and so you can solve as much as you like?

As crappy as this is right now, this is definitely the future of cubing. I truly believe in maybe a decade or sooner this will look like a normal cube but will still be able to scramble itself. Pretty much every cube will be like this, and add all the crazy smartcube features(app, self-timing, gives you tips, records your solves etc.) to it and you have something pretty damn amazing.

If you think further one could do this with a "normal" speedcube. You just need to hold two opposite centers with your fingers and let it scramble. Crazy! Cool!
