We had clouds in Houston, but my dad called me just before totality since he had clear skies at his house 100 miles south of Dallas. I got to listen to his excitement over the phone and that was the best present ever for him. I already saw the 2017 eclipse when we drove 700 miles to Hopkinsville KY. Now it was his turn

Your Total Solar Eclipse videos allowed me to get exactly what I wanted on April 8th. Thank you for making it one of the greatest days of my life.

Nico, I simply cannot thank you enough! I've watched this entire series multiple times, and your advice and guidance was (and continues to be) priceless. I planned my trip early, I set up my equipment properly, I made my own solar filters, I had the right software to run my camera, and I knew what I was doing because I practiced. And ALL of that was because of your advice and your knowledge. Thank you for sharing! On top of that, I was wonderfully lucky and now have some amazing photos to show for it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I went up to Pittsburg NH to see this thing. I have no words....it was beautiful, stunning, unreal, amazing. Everything about eclipse day was perfect for me. I managed to get the Dimond Ring and a SOLAR FLARE! TWO SOLAR FLARES!

I drove to Arkansas for clear skies and got some great photos. First time shooting an eclipse! Totality was INSANE!!

Travelled 14 hours round trip from central MA to Pittsburg NH. Watched your videos prior and as a first time seeing/photographing totality I got some INSANE photos. Diamond Ring, Baileys, Prominences, Inner Corona and some Mid corona, and even managed to get a little earthshine! Was such an unreal experience and I now understand how it can be addicting. I am in Eclipse withdrawal.

Releasing this right now is such a good idea. Well played, here I am needing it!

Very helpful video. I must admit that I prefer the results of the two leading, simpler methods as the last image, while fun, doesn't look anything like the eclipse that so mesmerized and moved us in the moment. I love the images that just slightly enhance what we saw and don't look like a painting. Will be using those suggested sliders!

Cool! I saw full solar eclipse in 2014, but then I didn't even had the idea that I'll try astrophotography and had no idea what it exactly is. Now I have to wait for next solar eclipse.

Hope you found a clear sky Nico! Got a pretty good, only lightly cloudy sky up in northern VT. Your tutorials were invaluable in photographing it today!

My sd card corrupted when there was about 1/3 of the eclipse left and I removed my glasses during totality but panicked when I couldn’t see the sun before I realized I forgot to take off my solar filter… not exactly a pro, wish me luck trying to recover my pictures lmao. Hope your photos turned out!

I got so many phenomenal images of the eclipse in Texas. I'm glad I kept up with satellite imagery, found a perfect opening in the sky, almost had me worried I would miss it!

We flew in to Dallas and drove up to Hot Springs, Arkansas for clear skies. Since I was traveling light I didn't bring much gear. I just used my Nikon D750 handheld with a 200mm lens and got some surprisingly good shots. This is a very helpful tutorial and I'll transfer some of your techniques to use in Affinity Pro and Luminar Neo, my primary photo processing programs.

Like a few others have mentioned, all of your eclipse prep videos helped me get exactly what I wanted out of this eclipse. My trip was super last minute but you made it possible. I was able to be completely hands off for my first time in totality and spent almost the whole four minutes and six seconds watching it with my own eyes. Thanks a ton, Nico. There's a video on my channel of my whole adventure if anyone wants to check it out!

I’ve have been following you for some time. Many of your techniques I have incorporated in my Milky Way edits. This is my second total solar eclipse to photograph. My first was the 2017. This time I had more experience, more equipment and more knowledge thanks to you. I was staked out for the week in Leakey Texas west of San Antonio on a ranch. But watching cloud prediction models I was apprehensive. Early Sunday morning I was getting apprehensive. At 8 am we packed up our tear drop camper and moved 500 miles to Arkansas at Lake Dardanelle State Park in the Ozarks. Conditions were perfect

I went to the Adirondack mountains, had a perfect place with clear views of the southern sky, but clouds started rolling in a fee minutes before it started, was still able to get some good images as the clouds over all were thin and wispy most of the time, but the haze cause bloom and some detail loss, but my total eclipse images look like something out of a scifi movie because of how the clouds in the twilight sky made the corona and bloom look. wasnt able to get good corona images but i accidentally got beads and diamond ring while shooting like crazy and adjusting exposure, though lower resolution at 300 mm, i also got a few solar flares which i love and the progression of photos you can see it growing and looping. my biggest success though was my other camera project and why i went up in the mountains. timelapse of the moons shadow. because the clouds were uniform mostly and thin enough, i actually got the shadow from the underside of the clouds as it passed over which was way better than i had planned because the clouds are flat and the ground wasnt.

the biggest thing i was surprised with was how quickly the sky darkend and how quick it lightened back up after at totality. its amazing how little sun needs to show to get a large amount of light.

i enjoyed this experience very much and if i am able to do it again, im going to have a larger lens and a motorized mount, i want high quality images of the edge activity as i find it most interesting and dynamic
