I really wanted to do something for Gerard now that The Umbrella Academy is on Netflix.
He's an inspiration, not only for me, but for so many other people. He thought that he wasn't going to make it to his 27s, that he wasn't good enough; but here we are. After years, My Chemical Romance is still relevant and is still helping kids, teenagers, adults, outsiders. He gave us The Fabulous Killjoys, he gave us so many things. He created a whole universe saying that it was "Pretty basic", but made it incredible. Now, that universe is going to the TV, thrashing around the competition, and turning into one of the most watched shows.

It's been brought to my attention that people were making fun of the title of this video for some reason?? (This is probably gonna get ss'ed)
I explained why I chose "He made it" and it's in the description.
I've known mcr since around 2006? And I am aware Gerard was already famous when he released TUA, and ofc that helped, even though he tried to separate the two (band life and comic life).
"He made it" wasn't about him or TUA being successful; it was about HIM, how after hitting rock bottom and believing he was going to die, how he thought he was a failure and he wasn't ever gonna "make it", he did. Maybe "made it" wasn't grammatically correct, idk.
As for the phrasing, I don't know if anything I write has gramatical errors or not, english is not my first language, heck, it's not even my second.
I made this because I was happy for Gerard, I'm not an editor or anything (as you can totally tell, judging by the awful editing), and I wasn't expecting to get this many views, I really didn't expect to get any.
That said, I'm happy that some people seem to like this shit that I made a couple of years ago.

I’m so proud of him! he is such a inspiration to me. he taught me that It was ok to be gay or a lesbian. he is the reason I came out to my sister and friends as bisexual. I’m glad he is where he is today. if the band wasn’t there he would most likely be gone. hey heaven would have gained one of the best angels that ever lived. thank you gerard for doing all that you do. you have inspired tens of thousands of people to go on with their life and live it. Gerard is a natural story teller. It reflects in MCR’s songs, their style, hell, even how the song was structured, the lyrics plus the awesome way the band incorporates the sound on the lyrics to tell a story so perfectly.
