I tried building this circuit myself and it worked quite well. But I found it works better with a 20nf instead of a 10nf cap between the mosfet's gate and source, and I do the audio modulation differently, I have a 1uf cap connecting the middle pin of the 10k potentiometer to an old walkman I have, and that works just as good.
