I learned German the easy way back in 1981. I moved to Germany to be with my German girlfriend. After registering and signing on forunemployment, the Arbeitsamt arranged for a German language course for me. I only got to watch German TV and only got to know German friends. Just a couple of months later, I learned German well enough to find a job. Sadly by 1989, our relationship broke down and I also lost my job. A few months later, I returned home. Of course, not knowing any Germans here, i gradually forgot much of what I learned. At least, thanks to German satellite TV, I can understand most of what I hear.

Hallo! Ich bin Englisch 🇩🇪 🇬🇧! You have so many German words that have no English translation (schadenfreude, treppenwitz, kummerspeck etc). I was wondering if you have a word to describe minor yet regular frustrations? I am half-deaf and there are so many things that make it harder for me to hear people when they speak to me (traffic, running water, machinery). It makes me so frustrated! Do you have a word for this in German? Like Taubwut or Klangelend?
