There was a time when "jungle" was not an English word. It got originated from India and then the whole world started using it. Similarly, the word "prepone" though originated from India is now part of the Oxford dictionary. So I guess we should use that proudly. And "indianism" made their way to the Oxford dictionary just like so many others. Indian English is a thing. We are the second largest English speaking nation and if we are contributing something to the language in a correct way, I believe it's a thing we should celebrate.

From my readings, I've come to learn that the phrase "out of station" was used during the British era. Basically, when the British officers were posted in cities, they used to be posted at "Stations". When they were not at their stations when someone needed them, the answering person would say, No, he/she is out of station.

For e.g.- May I speak with Mr. Watson?
Answer: No, he is out of station.

That is how the phrase came to be used in our country. So, it is not grammatically incorrect as much as it is outdated and holds no relevance in modern India.
