I think my favorite part about this movie is watching Just Jammin catch all the 90's hip hop references. Its like he grew up in that era. Most people today don't have a clue and he was naming songs and actually knew alot of small details. nice work

Wacky D is a parody of both MC Hammer and an early 90's european group called C&C Music Factory that had a fake tough guy rapper with a pony tail that sounded like Ice T

So, both Chris Rock & Nelson George did the story writing & screen writing which is one of the reasons this movie worked as well as it did. There are holes in it for sure but I love that Charlie Murphy had a big roll in this film and that this film showcased rap culture, media exploitation of celebrity and talent verses image. Oh and the fact that this movie was directed by a woman gives it a little more significance in terms of the portrayal of woman in it as well as some of the dialog perhaps. I found this movie more enjoyable on this viewing and I think it is because of how well it has held up over time and because the message is stronger to me than it was when I first saw it. Maybe I am reading into it or projecting my point of view here but I enjoyed it. Thanks JJ.

This is one of my favorite movies! This is basically a parody of “Straight Out Compton” 20 plus years earlier! This movie was strictly about laughs, and when the movie came out, there were a lot of people that were just getting introduced to Gangsta Rap, so everybody knows about it know, but not back then, which made it even funnier. Hey great reaction as always! Yeah I agree with you the story was a little bit weak all over the place but this had it's good funny moments which made up for it, e.g. the nwa influence and references, the real interviews with real rappers was a nice touch, the problems when becoming successful. So yeah definitely cool little movie enjoyed watching with you. By the way this video was a bit jumpy still watchable, I feel like the movies on google photos were better no interference.
