RANKING ATEEZ AS DANCERS (+Explanations)

I hate ranking ATEEZ because they have very different styles of dance but are all good dancers. It's really hard to rank them because some people prefer certain styles over others and that causes a bias to who they think is better. I think just overall they're a good dancing group

I think Jongho’s flaws reflect his main purpose in the group - an immobile torso is better for hin long term so he can sing with breath support. I wonder if this is something he was told to do or he just naturally evolved to keep the torso as structured as possible

KQ Ent. assigned them these positions for a reason. YunHo and WooYoung - Main Dancer. MinGi and YeoSang - Lead Dancer. San wasn't even considered until a while ago. Yes, he has spectacular charisma and power, I suppose that is what camouflages some of his weaknesses when dancing, because yes, at least on a technical level he is below the others. Please respect YunHo, he is underrated and NOT the other way around.

There is a difference between technical and stylized dancing. Both are just as valid as the other. San and Seonghwa are very strong stylized dancers but if we’re talking about technical skills I would say Yunho and Yeosang would be top two.

I'm not going to speak ill of the dancing skills of other members like some others here do, because I see strengths in the technique of almost every ATEEZ member. But to deny that Yunho remains the best dancer in the group even in 2023, when he consistently proves it with his technique and skills in every choreography, live performance, and concert on tour? Okay, the author and commentators might have their biases, but come on, not even placing him in the top 3 but at the 5th spot? "Not groovy, awkward coordination"—lol, that's just cringe. It's like denying that Jongho has the best vocal skills in the group simply because you prefer the vocal tone of another member. Or e.g. claiming that Seonghwa (and I adore Seonghwa) is a better rapper than Hongjoong or Mingi. Common sense should prevail.

Each Ateez member is a fantastic dancer with their own style, including Jongho.

Jongho sometimes adjusts choreography to sing live, especially in high-note songs, but he's still a good dancer.

Hongjoong has his unique style and uses a lot of energy, which might make him seem less synchronized with others, but he's not a bad dancer. He's more expressive and matches his energy with song parts.

Don't forget that Yeosang is the lead dancer; he dances well. He's overlooked fr.

Yunho and Wooyoung are the main dancers and among the best in the 4th generation.

While some mention Mingi as part of the dance line, I haven't heard that officially. Still, I love his dancing style.

Seonghwa and San might now be considered main dancers alongside Yunho and Wooyoung, and they deserve it.

I wanted to mention that "groove" is just a characteristic (not sure how to explain it) of dancers and not all must have it. For example Kai or Sehun, the main dancers in EXO do not groove yet their technique is good. Those two focus on tension-release.
Yunho excells in footwork and overally in coordination, as well as executing cleanly the moves. He's just that type of dancer.

I thought yunho and woo are the best dancer's on ateez but tbh san improved sm this last 3 years him been the first is not surprised after all we know ateez are one of the best dancer's in kpop
Also it is sad seeing everyone in the comments section arguing and been toxic bc there bias is not first and san is first like cmon it is just a vid if u get mad watching it go watch a diff one that says ur bias is the best dancer.
My bias is woo and he is still my fav dancer but i do appreciate sans dancing and everyone else like grow up and stop it u just giving a bad image of the grp and the fandom

For anyone who don't understand the tiers system, here is a general and small explanation of each tier (Credits to the original explanator tho):

-Starting from the lowest, which is Tier 7 ( Tho we have Tier 8 which is for dancers who have no connection to the music and look like they are not trying at all). Tier 7 is for the beginners where they lack basic foundations and their technique isn't muscle memory yet. Some of these dancers can have good moments which are capable for Tier 6 but really inconsistent and most of them don't improve cuz they're fine executing their choreos or lack proper training.

-Tier 6 is like dance class vibe tier where you are in the developing stage and have some basic fundamentals down and have some interesting traits that that put them above Tier 7. For example, Karina from Aespa is in the phase where her stops and footworks are pretty developed, but her coordination and isolations still need work.

-Tier 5 is where the dancers start getting really interesting dynamically, are more developed with their technique and have more interesting traits such as groove, power etc.

-Tier 4 is for dancers whose technique is very well developed and rounded along with their artistry, and they have standout traits in their technique.

-Tier 3 is when you have little to no weakness in your technique but you're not Tier 2 yet probably because you're artistically behind compared to Top 2 tiers

-Tier 2 is for the greatest dancers that have no weaknesses but still they are not Tier 1 (Which is the highest dance tier) because watching Tier 1 dancers make you go insane and lose your mind because of their crazy dynamics and stylistic choices.

People going out of their way to downgrade San when he’s objectively the best dancer and it’s not even atinys who say it but professionals and artists in the industry. Like yeah be bitter about it, he doesn’t have a dancer position yet he’s the best dancer. Go complain to kq for not giving him that position in the first place instead of saying things like “he has too much energy” or “he’s the best performer, not the best dancer” because these only prove how talented that man is.

This is not the same San who was so bad that he was left out of dances when they were trainees. This is present day San. When it comes to power, isolations, angles, footwork, groove, and the ability to become the choreo rather than just dance it… San consistently ranks first 9/10 times. The dance ranking of 2018 Ateez is not the 2023 Ateez dance ranking, MANY members are shifted
