Don't Buy The ONEXPLAYER X1 just yet #onexplayer #OneXplayerX1

Don't buy the OneXPlayer X1 yet, it's got terrible fan noise, type-c charging stops working, bad battery life, poor oculink bandwidth, and performance feels very laggy on the battery. Gaming FPS is worse than the Ally and Legion Go by a massive margin (Yes we knew this) Stick to AMD handles like the ROG Ally or Legion GO is my recommendation. I've owned now the Steamdeck, Ayaneo 2S, ROG ally, and the Legion Go Plus now this letdown. The Legion Go I think is the best for the money but only has 16GB of RAM.

Of course the Onexplayer X1 fanboys discord group found this and I'm making this up. So I'm an idiot for being honest and speaking the truth. It's just facts, which hurt as a buyer. Just scroll up and check the discord others have the same issues I do. And others report low Oculink scores so all of what I said is the truth. So thanks for calling me a retard etc good luck with your $1100 purchase and beta testing for OneXPlayer!

I'm sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. Regarding the noise issue you brought up, we've sent an email to you with potential remedies. Please check your mail box and hopefully it will provide a solution. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.🎮

Oh man, thanks so much for this video! I almost pulled the trigger on this one. Then I decided to hold off because of the risk of fan noise precisely. Please do a full review and don't listen to those people attacking you, they may be people working for the company or asked to comment by people working there just to defent the company. You are doing a great service to your community, but this should go beyond shorts. I block shorts on desktop, I only saw this by chance on a tablet...

There are a lot of good handheld devices, yet there is a problem with all of them all which is windows

Microsoft needs to keep up with the huge market for handheld devices.

Regrettable I would have expected the Oculink to get something out of this.

I assume this is the Intel version? I'm actually thinking about purchasing the newer AMD X1 Mini model depending on how it reviews.

I bought one, With onexgpu, it does perform great. and you just have to play around with settings to play your AAA games to sweet points. Remember one thing, guys: its Integrtaed GPU is not a dedicated GPU on the device . External GPU ( onexgpu or GPD G1) connected with oculink cable, it performs great with ultra settings. Even with graphics hungry games. i am happy with purchase.

I don't have a single complaint with my AMD 8840u X1. To each their own, you like name brand stuff and I'd guess probably absolutely hate tinkering or even setting up a device or computer.

This is my second OneXPlayer handheld and I must be getting the "good" ones each time or something. Personally I love tinkering and pushing hardware beyond its limits. I don't look for the out of the box "console" experience, I like the ability to tinker and overclock.

Im not a fan boy, but have you tried installing win ghost spectre ? Cuz, you know, its a pc . I did this with rally and lego and boost them up a lot, and fix almost everyrhing that everybody complains when they came up.

Ooof, to think i almost backed it because of another YTber's overly positive preview. Sounds like a rough start for intel chipsets. Review for it since you already have it in hand?

Damn that sucks, i was super excited since it was the same form as my old touchscreen laptop i had and had the bonus of the attachable controller

I've been eying this up (AMD version) but I have concerns after having tried the Legion Go and feeling like the controller attachment mechanism was flimsy. I don't want a "creaky" sounding/feeling experience. How does the controller feel on this when attached? Solid like the switch?

Thanks for the short, I had a buddy that was interested in this handheld, so I will tell them to get something else, I suspect that all the issues are related to the intel chip, since the MSI Claw from what I have heard of has been suffering from a lot of issues too, and then there's also the whole fiasco intel has with the 13th and 14th gen CPUS, which I am personally dealing with myself, where even after doing that August BIOS update, I still don't get the performance that I paid for, and I couldn't allow the system to stay at the default settings, as I had to still manually setup the values for voltage and amperage to make it more stable.

I completely understand, though I must say, I have the X1 and frankly it is my dream device, HOWEVER the egpu makes all the difference for me; and not to mention I'm benefitting from the time and drivers from them to now. Regardless, great informative short!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I bought one of these and have had it for over a month. Just opened it today, but I contemplated finding out if I could still return an unopened unit, because since they've released the AMD 8840U X1 mini variant, I'd honestly probably prefer that due to the size and RDNA3 iGPU. However, I also own a GPD Win 4 with the 6800u and I've gotten everything I want out of it so far with a small handful of PC games and mostly PS2 emulation. Considering I'm emulating, i think the 155H should be somewhat more powerful than the 6800U and maintain decent temps between 720 and 1080p resolutions. I guess I'll find out soon enough. Work trip in another state for a week, so if I can play with the eGPU amd my wireless controller comfortably in the hotel, I'll probably be ok. I do also have a built PC to fallback on.

I'm glad the handheld PC market has plenty of options, but it does make finding quality, balanced options that strike the sweet spot between battery life on-the-go, performance, and portability tougher. My modded PS Vita is still the best handheld I own, in my opinion.

I would love to see a review of the GPD win max 2 (2024) from you! It has a similar promise of the all in one gaming laptop with built in controllers but seems much better build than this one

Now that you got the AMD version do you like the handheld?

Would you be reviewing the LeGo? Seems like a good tablet alternative, with a potential of becoming a desktop with egpu.
