Okay so I can answer the USPS thing. My mom worked there for years so she’s given me the inside scoop. She had to be out the door at a certain time so you pretty much load all the packages you can, but usually some are left for the next day. If the two boxes get separated they won’t even know till they go to scan it at your address, so they often get split up. When they get to the house the system won’t let them move on unless both your packages are marked delivered. They mark them both as delivered and put you on a priority list for the next day. At least this is how it worked at my moms post office. Usually if the package is marked delivered and doesn’t come, it will come within the next day ☺️
