What an absolute joke! They were invented around the 13th or 14th centuries when China was occupied by the Mongols and they were called moon cakes. They were used to smuggle messages regarding the date of a popular uprising regarding the invaders. They only became known as fortune cookies 🥠 when the Chinese settled in San Francisco and they were made by Chinese people who served them at their restaurants. I don’t know where this video gets its ‘information’ from but it’s way off. I mean some Americans think they invented the pizza 🍕 when it was actually the Italians in Naples.
