I have a personal little headcanon that most of Six's hunger pains from the second game is partially from the guilt of dropping Mono
Along with her hugging the nomes because they remind her of him and his silly hats

I saw a theory that the reason why Six let go was because, if they had journeyed together longer, their chronic hunger would have forced them to eat Mono.

The fact that they did that so that Mono wouldn't have to go through the pain of being eaten alive whilst feeling betrayed, and instead have him live knowing fully well that they will be despised just makes it even sadder. Idk this is just how I feel
