This is my VERY late entry to the Guitar Center's Master Class with Synyster Gates guitar cover contest.. But, here is mine.

Credits:
ALL guitar tracks were recorded by, myself; however, obviously most of it is the content of the songwriters (Avenged Sevenfold), including the bass and drums backing track that I was provided by the contest holders. I simply "wrote-in" my own version of the clean verse over the original and changed up the solo and breakdown slightly.

Hey, yeah, I got the tab from the official A7X Nightmare Tab Book. The first part of the first solo I just sort of felt-out the harmony until I got it right. I personally hate reading tab books just because it shows all of the guitar parts on the same pages. But yeah, the tab book is the best way to go. However, even published tab books can be just as incorrect as tab websites. For example, if I remember right: the sweep at the very end of the first solo was tabbed out COMPLETELY wrong in the official Nightmare tab book. So I went and watched a video of Syn playing it live. Lastly, no I sadly didn't win any part of the contest. But I gave it a good run, even though I entered my video late. Oh well. Anyway, good luck in learning the song! This song is now a personal favorite of mine, now that I know all of the parts and even re-wrote some parts (for the sake of the contest).

nice. I'll check it out. What'd ya think of my changes? I know there aren't very many changes in mine but I tried to make them stand out as much as possible.

pretty bad, you just played the song as it is, you had to play something different to catch syn's eyes.
