Falls Church School Board Work Session - October 22, 2024

From legislative advocacy to enhancing classroom technology and setting school goals, FCCPS leaders are focused on creating better opportunities for all students.

🗓️  Legislative Priorities: FCCPS is advocating for more funding in the 2025 General Assembly session, focusing on special education, ELL programs, and teacher pay. Plans also include renewing support for safe gun storage laws and the "Grow Your Own Teachers" program.

💻  Tech in Classrooms: Instructional Technologists and school leaders presented on how technology is enhancing learning. Programs like Dreambox and Google Suite personalize student learning and foster collaboration, supporting the IB curriculum and promoting digital citizenship.

🏫  School Action Plans: Each school outlined their 2024-2026 action plans, focusing on improving IB teaching, enhancing communication, and supporting student wellness. Goals are data-driven, targeting engagement and equity across the division.
