The first shot is close. I might have called it good, but accidental. As long as the racket is in hand at contact and losing the racket wasn't intentional, it's still good. At least that's how it works in tennis.

However, also like tennis, if the racket was thrown intentionally to catch a ball out of reach, then yes. It is illegal.
