You could mention Ondrej Palat in 2011 as he was 6th round draft pick, but obviously Gaudreau was a bigger steal

I generally agree with not picking 2nd round picks for steals. But for 2017, I feel like you gotta make an exception for Jason Robertson.

feels like picking goalies is cheating a little bit because of how unpredictable they are from draft to the very end of their careers haha but some very cool picks !!

I'd give 2016 honorable mentions to Jesper Bratt and Brandon Hagel. Not to shabby for a couple of 6th-rounders. One has to wonder if Buffalo is kicking themselves for letting Hagel walk, instead of signing him.

You could do a top 10 late bloomers. Guys who were either touted as a top end player, or who were not expected to be much, that took a while but ended up being a solid nhl player. Guys like stephenson and tage thompson are perfect examples.

I know he was a second-round pick but come on Jason Robertson was an absolute steal by Dallas

Steals should definitely start in the second round. Come on, Kucherov late 2nd is insane

In my probably biased opinion, anders lee was a bigger steal from 2009, 6th round 152nd overall. 678 games 240 goals 176 assists for 416 points. Also our current captain.

I miss Craig Anderson already. Heck of a guy. So glad he got to retire in the blue & gold.

Interesting fact with Mark Stone is the Senators didn't draft him with their own pick. The Senators traded backup goaltender Alex Auld to the Dallas Stars for a 6th round pick which the Sens used to draft Mark Stone. So what initially seemed like a nothing trade turned out to be one of the best trades in Senators history. And ironically Stone and the Golden Knights just defeated the Dallas Stars!

Jesper bratt not getting any love kinda crazy 6th round and 276 points

Bratt going in the 6th round in 2016 probably deserved an honorable mention

Johnny hockey and the Cat not being first rounders is absolutely insane... but we all know Pavel and Z are the biggest draft steals of all time 😁

I would choose Patrick Sharp for 2001, Kris Letang deserves a mention for 2005, 2008 should be Braden Holtby or Cam Atkinson, 2009 Darcy Kuemper, 2012 also had Jacob Slavin, 2014 had Igor Shesterkin. Also I think draft classes from 2016 and beyond are too early to judge now

i love how quickie is ur pick for 2005 and if u included the whole draft and not just round3+ i would have Kopitar as the biggest steal at 11 😂
