The iPhone 16 Seems like A LOT 👀

The fact that competitors are so focused on early launches could only mean one thing. It might just be that Apple is prepping for something significant. We've seen Cupertino stuck on iterative updates for years, and then this dramatic push to Pro video and photo capabilities on its Pro models, but this is the one moment where I'm actually gonna praise that AI is here. Whether you use it, care about it or don't, AI has single-handedly forced companies to stop skimping out on essentials like how much RAM you get on your phone, to just name one element of the spec sheet. It's the reason why any of you using base iPhone 15 units won't get the Apple Intelligence love the Pro variants will get.

So yeah, now that we're about a month away from Apple's next iPhones, it does beg to wonder exactly what will change form the company's next batch of phones. It's time for a follow-up deep dive. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow, and let's talk about the iPhone 16 series.

Apple must have known that all these AI features were coming last year and yet they still released the iPhone 15 with 6GB of ram, deliberately not future proofing it so that if people wanted the features they had to buy a new phone after a year. So much for them and their "environmental" claims, not to mention the sheer greed of it

AI is the worst thing that could have happened to the iPhone and smartphones in general cause it allows the companies to talk about their basically useless AI gimmicks for years instead of improving the hardware significantly

Apple should move the base model to 90hz, even 75hz would make a noticeable difference. Its ridiculous to stay at 60hz on a mid-high end phone going into 2025

Changes compared to the 15's do not justify jumping over to the 16's but for people on the X's, 11's 12's the difference is huge and most people that will get the 16's are coming from those phones, for some reason people on YT tech channel comments think that people swap out phones every time a new one drops but that is false, only a small % of people actually do that. If that were the case you would not have people saying they are still rocking their Note 9 or S21 and so on.

Let's be real dude... what's actually gonna change? Apple doesn't take risks. They don't innovate. They leave that to Google, Samsung and others... they sit back, watch the others push the tech and market forward, and then a few years later they cherry pick the best features of the competition, put it in the "new" iphone and slap their logo on it...

Apple innovated and pushed the envelope in 2007 with the first iPhone, and they haven't done much since other than follow the Android side of things for their "inspiration"...

Samsung innovates, they make their products exciting, and that is what I miss from the early days of smartphones. Palm, HTC, Windows Mobile, Sony even Blackberry. I miss the old days.

Switching back to Samsung after 2 years on iPhone. I was enamored by the watch ultra at first but I’m going back to traditional watches and the iPhone just isn’t as good as Samsung.

And then Apple let's you down again in the late summer. Everybody else is just fighting against brand loyalty and not the iPhone and it's OS.

The only way I go back to Apple is if they release a folding phone with a kick-ass camera. The camera is the only thing I miss from my iPhone.

I have the 14 pro max. And the battery life is now at 85%. I think its because i do a lot of wireless charging and it produces a lot of heat. I think the better heat dessipation is just going to be awesome for that. Definitely going to upgrade to the 16 pro max.

I’ve recently upgraded to the 15 Pro Max, from all the rumours and prospective leaks the only thing that would have made me buy the 16 this year is that i would have had the option to get a Rose one that’s the same colour as my MacBook. Other than that, im very happy with my current phone
