When the dude said Guy was taking a risk going with Nolan I immediately thought, "dude, he read the script and knew it was a great story and that it was an amazing opportunity, not a risk."

And of course, if he watched Following, he knew what Nolan was capable of. That movie made 300k on a budget of 11.5k-- in inflation adjusted dollars. So Nolan was an up and coming director that people wanted to work with.
