Frank Raphael is a solo artist from the UK. A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and bedroom producer, his music blends synth pop, jazz and alternative indie with rich harmonies and layered grooves. Frank studied classical art in Scotland for 2 years after pursuing the visual arts for most of his young life, but a combination of utter artistic burnout and a longing to make music again led him back to his home in England to start writing and producing songs. This compounded with the 2020 pandemic lockdown led to a complete shift in artistic direction.
Lyrics:
(you live in my head for free)
(not much space but now you've got the keys to the)
(front door of all of me)
(I was living alone but now I guess I got a roomie)
Don't look at me like that again (don't look at me like that again)
'cause I might fall so hard
that I break every bone in my body
I felt like I could use a friend (felt like I could use a friend)
but I got much more, now you're with me 24/7
going up, but now we're stuck in the lift together
You've gotta see
what you do to me
and I'd venture to say that you like it
and you break me down
to my component pieces
try to put me back together
but now it's a tight fit
'cause you live in my head for free
there's not much space but now you've got the keys to the
front door of all of me
I was living alone but now I guess I got a roomie
You live in my head for free
there's not much space but now you've got the keys to the
front door of all of me
I was living alone but now I guess I got a roomie
I feel like I've been split down the middle (split down the middle)
but the upkeep costs stay the same
and the bills I pay they haven't changed
and I feel like this is a bit of a one-sided arrangement
and I think we might default on our payments
'cause you live in my head for free
there's not much space but now you've got the keys to the
front door of all of me
I was alone but now I guess I got a roomie
you live in my head for free
there's not much space but now you've got the keys to the
front door of all of me
I was living alone but now I guess I got a roomie
(you) 'cause you didn't pay a god damn thing
you just barged right in
and now you've got the keys to the (keys to the)
You live in my head for free
there's not much space but now you've got the keys to the
front door of all of me
I was living alone but now I guess I got company
You live in my head for free
I gotta get the locks changed cause now you know the way to the
front door of all of me
'cause I was living alone but now I guess I got a roomie
