I'm 32, just watched my daughter who's 6 pull Charizard V alt art out of brilliant stars. She snagged 3 sleeved packs from best buy with her own allowance from helping with our animals and basic house chores, also doing great in school. Anyways, she seen my reaction and how excited I got, kicked my shoes off and threw my dad hat as I jumped about lol. She came over and said "Here daddy, I know u really love Charizard, so u can have it"...brought me to tears so fast I didn't have time to realize it was happening. Of course I took the card to get it to the sleeve and binder as fast as possible, but little does she know, im just keeping them safe. The entire collection is hers ❤

I could tell he was freaking out with him, but had to be the adult and not let him repeat the mistakes we all did back in the day (not sleeving, and keeping safe)

I’m 23 and I’d react similarly. This kids whole year just got made. He’s gonna be at school SO ready to tell everyone, that’s adorable.. this hobby has conjured ecstatic happiness for generations, I hope it lasts for generations more

I remember when I pulled my shadowless 1st edition Charizard when I was 11 in 1999. I kept it until I was 24 and sold it for $40k to pay off my student loans. The guy I sold it to still has it and he sent it in to PSA and got it back as a 10. The guy is a good friend of my dad’s and he told me if he ever sells it before he dies he would spilt the money minus the $40k with me. Mind you the last 1st edition shadowless 10 sold for $350, 000. He said the card is willed back to me if he dies before selling it but I would have to pay back his kids, who are my childhood and buddies, the $40k. 😂 the guy is super legit. The energy this kid had reminded me of myself and the experience. Congratulations kiddo. Hold onto it. I’m now 35 and I wish I never sold my collection especially my shadowless 1st editions. That card one day may buy you a house.

What a great father bonding with his son over Pokemon cards and making life long memories with his son, just an amazing moment caught on camera.

Seeing people freak out and then trying to carefully insert the card into the sleeve is always hilarious. The way they try to contain themselves for a brief moment so that the card is safe, to then let that excitement come back out again afterwards lol.0
