When I was a kid I had a paper route. All the money I collected I sorted through. Steel pennies, silver, war nickels. Then, before I had to pay my bill at the newspaper office, I would go to one of the banks in town and exchange all my collected money into pennies. I would sort through 25 to $30 worth of pennies finding all sorts good ones. (this was in the mid 1960's). Then to the other bank in town and get all nickels or dimes. I usually had a couple days. I kept doing this until be bill was due.

Good tip. I'd be happy with the copper for the stack, but I'm not paying more than 50 cents.

I told my bank if they ever see old rolls of any denominations to save them and I’ll come buy them

I have a lot of pennies. I'll gladly take a dime for each one because they're worth more in copper than face value.

FIRST of all, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing handles CURRENCY and NOT COINS! Secondly, if these were GENUINE US Mint rolls, ALL of these coins would be NEW and they would ALL be the same YEAR with the SAME mintmark too! THINK people, THINK.

my father collected coin for 70 years and had a sweet collection of both USA and foreign coins .... he knew he was going to die soon and decided to sell it off to a Coin n Stamp shop owner that he knew very well ... Before the sop owner opened up the first box - he said that he was sorry to say BUT very few people collect coins these days and so the total value will be very low . He took three full day to review everything and then offered my father $10, 000 dollars . My dads heart sunk badly and he wiped a tear from his eyes ...

Youre 100% correct. But in all honesty you have some 100 year old coins that are real.

I got rolls like that from my bank years ago for face value and made about 15 bucks off the rolls so it was cool

I got a Kennedy half dollar the other day as change. Imagine my shock when I found out it was worth 50 cents.

As a kid in the 1970s, while hunting through some penny rolls, I found a civil war token, which paid tribute to the Monitor ("Our Little Monitor"). I used to look for errors, which at the time was considered odd, weird at best, I persevered, and forgot about as I got older, and now... sheesh....

I have a 1918 penny, no idea how I got it, and its not worth much, but I'm gonna keep it.

All one cent coins as it concerns me have the value of one cent. But since I am not using coins, you better find somebody else to sell them cause I am not going to pay any value!

I found a 1906 Indian head penny while counting change at work. Its not worth much in its condition, but it's cool to have something made 117 years ago.

Blimey, something in the US over 100 years old. I need to sit down.

What about the ones with no mint markings?

No your 1955 DDO would have to be graded Red B.U. MS 67+ or MS 68 in order to be worth $120, 000
