I accidentally left my pruners in the rain last week!😩 Here is how I remove rust from tools using vinegar.⬇️

➡️When iron and iron alloys (steel) are exposed to moisture and oxygen they corrode due to oxidation.

➡️This chemical reaction forms the brown-reddish rust or iron oxide.

➡️Here is an easy way to remove rust from your garden tools.

1️⃣ Submerge the rusted section on your tool in vinegar for 24 hours.⏰

2️⃣ Scrub with a scouring pad or steel wool sponge. Use a toothbrush to get around tiny spaces. (Consider wearing 🧤)

3️⃣ Wipe down any residue with a rag.

4️⃣ Lubricate with mineral oil and wipe down again. You may use vegetable oil.🛢

5️⃣ Store your tools indoors in a dry place and keep away from any moisture.💧

Happy Gardening!💚😀

Why are people forgetting. After the vinegar process. You need to soak the tool in baking soda and water mix so it can neutralize the acidic top layer of the vinegar. Then dry, and oil it up for the last protected coating.
