Personal opinion live by the dice die by the dice I'm a DM and I find it makes the game more chaotic and memorable when Joe smo the drinking hobo sees the rogue sneaking and the the elite guards don't then I get to make up a backstory for Joe smo and I allow the same for my players if they want to do something impossible if they roll high enough I allow it everything from making new spells to the barbarian Punching through a leomunds tiny hut I just balance it with goblins and shit being smart and tactical
