Here is a short clip of a very seldom-seen operation around the Norristown area. This is former Upper Merion & Plymouth (now a division/line of ArcelorMittal) that serves the Philly News plant in Swedeland, PA, also this small chemical facility. This is apparently a once-a-month job, and Penn Rail Videos was there to capture this rare footage. The engine is an EMD SW1200, and the slug is actually a former Reading Railroad BALDWIN DS4-4-1000 #712, and was made into a slug by the Philadelphia, Bethlehem, & New England (PBNE). The SW1200 was on the PBNE as well. The #38 has a sweet Nathan K5LA mounted in front of the cab.

ah, the lovely sounds in this video. From the nice sounding horn, to the distinctive roar of the 567 under the hood

Very cool catch! I've lived in the area for years and have never seen this operation before. Do you know where these units are stored?

@CSX6000 damn that old SW-1200 had some good air pressure for the horn!!!! holy shit

The units are normally over at the Conshohocken steel mill.

i like how your production logo lasts only 7 seconds. its long enough for everyone to see, but then you get on with it. not like some of these videos where it lasts half the length of the entire video. others could learn from you. good job.

@KyleVideoDesigns I would consider this more of an industrial than a short line.

That horn sounds Canadian. The K-5L is Canadian-tuned

@RCman2626 Out of the view from the public. Probably in the Philly News plant.

@conrailgp15 That would be the reasoning behind the title.
