Pompeii is amazing. Went there with my family last year. Actually, there are no preserved remains per se. The ash buried people where they sat, lied or cowered. Then over time, their organic bodies decomposed leaving a hollow area in the dense ash shaped like their bodies. Archeologists in the late 19th century discovered this and came up with a way to fill these hollow areas with a type of plaster which could then be excavated to show exactly how the people were positioned when they died. Incredible!

Your ASMR reminded me of learning about Pompéi in middle school with a history teacher who was also very calm and kindhearted. We came across terms like pyroclastic flow for the first time ! As a French person I should point out « nuées » should be pronounced more like nu-ay but your pronunciation of Latin is impressive :). And it doesn’t detract from the quality of your lesson ! Thanks again ! 💜
