Driving Yantai 4K - Wine City of China - Downtown & Coastal Highway

Yantai（Chinese: 烟台）
Located in the northern part of Shandong Peninsula, is a T-shaped portside city.

The name Yantai (lit. "Smoke Tower") derives from the watchtowers constructed on Mount Qi in 1398 under the reign of the Hongwu Emperor of the Ming dynasty. The towers were used to light signal fires and send smoke signals, called langyan from their supposed use of wolf dung for fuel.

Compared with Shandong's other top tourist destinations (such as Qingdao, Mount Tai, Qufu, etc.), it is rather quiet and understated. However, its natural beauty is not inferior.
Yantai is also known as “City of Wine” ，the famous Chinese wine brand Zhangyu was born here，whose founder Zhang Bishi introduced viticulture and winemaking to China in 1892.

Our journey this time starts from the western side of the city, following the coastal road into the city center, with the destination at Golden Beach Coastal Park.
