I think if this book had been Andy Weir's debut it would have been great but I don't think he was ever going to be able to exceed expectations after the success of The Martian. That been said, when expectations are put aside, Artemis is enjoyable even with its flaws and I'm still looking forward to everything else Weir writes in the future!

I read Artemis and felt the same way as you described it. However, I have not read The Martian so I'm excited to read it after finishing Dark Matter.

Nice review. I did the audiobook version of Artemis (in part because the Martian was so amazing as an audiobook) and I'm giving it a second listen.

I think it's harder to identify with Jass (than it was Mark) because she is responsible for her current situation in a way that Mark wasn't. And because she is selfish in a way that he wasn't.

One of the things I enjoyed about The Martian was the humor, so I'm hoping this book has that. Other than that, I'm keeping my expectations low so I won't (hopefully!) be disappointed. I want to enjoy this, even if it's not up to the same level as The Martian.

I am currently reading it . I did not get a chance to read Martian, so I am enjoying it . The protagonist is someone I could relate to my girlfriend *wink* Thank you for your review . I do watch your videos regularly

I really enjoyed this book! It wasn't as good as the Martian for me either, but it was very fun.

Not much is mentioned about this book. It's not one of Weir's best efforts. I think he bit more off than he could chew, especially in trying to write from the POV of a woman.
