Piplup was my very first starter ever. I started relatively late in Pearl, and I always loved every evolution in the line
Seeing it getting the changes it deserves makes me feel insane amount of joy

Empoleon is one of my all time favs. In fact, all the Gen 4 starters are perfect

As someone who's favorite Starter from Gen 4 Is Empoleon, I am happy they buffed them by finally giving a better hidden ability to take advantage of Its Special Attack!

Fun fact: all three Sinnoh Starters now have a recovery move! Torterra gets Synthesis, Empoleon gets Roost, and Infernape gets Slack Off.
