Number 12: Simon, who is called Peter The Bible does not provide specific details about the Apostle Peter's death. According to the widely accepted tradition within the church, Peter was crucified in Rome, but in an unusual manner—upside down. This tradition suggests that when Peter was sentenced to death, he requested to be crucified on an inverted cross. The reason behind his request was his acknowledgment of having denied Jesus, and he believed he was unworthy to die in the same manner as his Lord (referencing Matthew 26:3, 33-35, 69-75).
However, it's important to note that this account is based on tradition and is not confirmed or denied by the Bible. What we can be certain of regarding Peter's death is a prophecy made by Jesus in John 21:18-19. Jesus said to Peter, "Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go." Jesus spoke this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would bring glory to God. By foretelling the manner of Peter's death, Jesus may have been preparing him for the challenges he would face after Jesus' resurrection, as Peter would no longer have His physical presence.

God of Resilience,
Fortify my spirit in times of trial and adversity.
Grant me the courage to persevere and the faith to trust in your plan.
May I find strength in weakness and hope in despair, knowing that you are always with me.
With you as my stronghold, I can endure all things.
Amen.

This is very interesting. I have been wondering how the apostles died and survived after Jesus was crucified. I imagined they were tortured immensely.

If boiling oil couldn't kill John, nothing could. After Christs resurrection when he was blessing his Apostles and asked them what theywanted, in speaking of John, said, If I will that he lives to serve me until I come again, what is that to you? You have what you wanted and that is a good desire. John was translated and continues to serve his Lord.

You mentioned Judas Iscariot's death twice and omitted the stoning of Stephen.

This seems like Catholic doctrine at the start rather than biblical.

Interesting video thanks. Is there any chance you can use a real human narrator voice, as these computer generated ones are much less personal and make mistakes in reading too...?

St.Thomas as you said died in the southern part of India. Like other apostles he was also martyred. It is not clear even to this day as to why and by whom he was speared to death. The small hillock very close to Madras ( now Chennai) and a cave like structure is reported to be his dwelling in the first century A.D. Pilgrims visit the place and a painting of Mother Mary that he was carrying throughout his journey is still there. In St. Thomas Mount, another hillock by the side the place mentioned earlier, where he was martyred a very small piece of his bone is preserved in a convent situated atop the mountain. The Portuguese in India built a church on the shores of the Bay of Bengal ( in the heart of erstwhile Madras )and the remains of St. Thomas was kept below the altar for worship and veneration until it was taken to Rome. St. Thomas preached in the southern part of India and converted several hundred people . Christianity came to India in the first century A.D itself immediately after the crucification of Jesus.

I read about the deaths of the apostles before.
These are all documented in writings of the early church.
No, the writings are not biblical, but neither are hundreds of writings of early Church fathers, and these accounts are likely true.
The apostles were all important leaders of the early church, and the manner of their deaths would have been well known by Christians of their day.
