Mr cracc, i recently bought an E class Mercedes that was side swiped. very light cosmetic damage, it was dirty and the bumper was hanging.
i bought a fender on Ebay for $120 and zip tied the bumper.
I took it earlier this week to a Mercedes dealership for a service and the car is in EXCELLENT shape, just the usual wear and tear. It was from Farmers insurance, all that for just $1, 100 + Copart fees.
I used some of your tips like the vin lookup and i also added the vin to mycarfax. com which gave a report of the registration expiration and maintenance history FOR FREE.

Make sure you look at a car before buying. I have bought 2 from copart. A 2010 Insight and a 2013 Fiat 500 C Lounge. Both ran well on the lot and were driveable off the lot. Today, I looked at a Fiesta that had "undercarriage damage". What that meant was the transmission was fried and wouldn't go into gear. The car started but wouldn't move even though it was listed as "Run and Drive". Someone who doesn't look at the car before buying will be asking for trouble.. Still, bought a couple for personal use and will buy a couple more for the kids as needed. Great way to get a good car cheap if you don't mind a few dents

this auction sucks... $3450 for that 2012 jetta with 93, 208 miles + salvage title?!!! + another 800 on auction fees ?!!! it was 93, 208 miles not 6, 900..

That Jetta has way more miles than that. It's been rolled back. For one, it's already missing the hubcaps, (coming from a VW owner) these are fragile, but there is no reason why they should be gone within 7000 miles. Also, look at the steering wheel, shifter, and handbrake. They are discolored, meaning that this car has been handled a lot. Likely that it has way more miles than this, and someone with VCDS just recoded the odometer to the last indicated mileage so that there would be no red flags and they can take thousands off of this car.

I see that all these cars have different sales locations does that mean that's where the car is originally titled or does that mean that's where the actual car is at the time of sale if so how do you buy a car that's in a different an how do you get it does copart ship it or do you have to pick it up yourself

Cars sold on approval can actually have their bids declined by the seller. Also, Copart Sellers (at least the ones i work with) do have general Sale price information for inventory that has gone through our yards. Message me sam if you have any questions! i bought a 2000 infinti qx4 from copart got if for only $90 bux no joke only $90 bux with 115k miles with very light damage to the front was a run and drive car only fender and bumper was damaged.
