E4MC has had this feature for years—just download it and your friends can join your world. Adding E4MC to the code and making fun of how servers are normally made isn’t a good idea. It’s always better to make a proper server or use a hosting service. That way, there’s less lag and you can also add custom plugins and mods.

Yes, it's simpler but you (the host) have to be online, and it's not that hard as it shows to host a basic mc server
