The world's two biggest economies have signalled they may be ready to end their ongoing trade war.

During a meeting at the G20 Summit, the United States and China reached a 90-day ceasefire on economic tariffs starting from January to allow for fresh negotiations.

In the new year, U.S. tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods were set to rise from 10 to 25%.

For now, that won't happen, but President Trump has warned they will be imposed if the fresh talks fail.

This latest agreement was reached before the US and Chinese leaders departed the G20 summit in Buenos Aires.

From their, our U.S. correspondent, Amanda Walker sent this report.

So, to discuss a trade and tariffs issue, Trump brought with him a ... Security Advisor, John Bolton. Mixing economics and business with invasion and bombing.

So the tariffs will remain, but won't increase for another 90 days.

Why a "cease-fire" when Trump said, "trade wars are easy to win"? 🤔

The global multinational corporations started the trade war with free trade. I don't know why there are all these dire predictions of economic slowdown, when gradually easing back to un-free trade should better the economies of all countries. By switching the host countries back to their own better paying factory jobs, selling to their own populations, with cleaner factories, creating an internal domestic stimulus. And leaving out the currency manipulation, further strengthening their currencies. And the importing countries like the U.S. and in Europe, by returning their production jobs, again with good paying factory work and huge reduction of unemployment from those production jobs that were lost to free trade. The only losers would be the outsourcing global corporates. They could always move back home, and join the party.
