I remember during my first playthrough when someone spoiled the game to me saying Prison Island was the last area of the game, so I actually thought the game was gonna end when you visit Prison Island for the first time

I love how the Old Mine from Future Connected is technicly the final Dungeon and uses this theme

I've always loved this music. You just know something important is going to happen at Prison Island--the game has been promising it for a long time--and this music does such a good job of subtly stoking your expectations and getting you impatient to see what's next, while also fitting thematically with an ancient palace that's been inaccessible to literally everyone for thousands of years, so long that no one even remembers for sure what's there (except that whatever it is, must be there unwillingly--can't have a "Prison Island" without something being imprisoned, right?).

I never realized until just recently that this area shares a musical motif with _Zanza the Divine._ Can't believe I missed that.

This was such an underrated theme in the original game, I'm glad to hear it got remastered, I really didn't think it would because it's probably the most underutilised area theme

This song always gave off a "breathing" vibe, like the Bionis is inhaling and exhaling. You're on Prison Island, which is behind the head, and you "free" Zanza, the sleeping God of Bionis, so yeah.

i noticed the zanza motif last night. it’s so interesting when you go back and are able to make connections like that. it’s basically zanza the divine in a minor mode, rather than phrygian, if anyone was wondering why it sounds slightly off. it’s such a wonderful detail

Such an underrated track. The Prison island scene is where the story gets really good. This place being foreshadowed many times in Shulk's visions really gets you excited for when you finally reach this place and see what happens next. I remember being so hyped when I finally reached prison island for the first time and going through tons of emotions after the prison island scenes. Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my most favorite games of all time.

Prison Island is such an awesome area to me, the first time you're there you don't see much of it and they aren't many enemies but man is it still terrifying, so different from everything we've seen on Bionis up to that point.
