As the first shipment of grain to leave Ukraine since Russia’s February invasion set sail yesterday, those working in the grain and shipping industries are cautiously optimistic that it will be the first of many to come.

The Razoni, carrying 26,000 tonnes of corn, became the first ship to set sail to Lebanon via Istanbul - and another 17 are ready to follow.

Those sailors were unbelievably brave. I don't think anyone actually expected them to make it without problems.

These sailors are so brave to be doing this despite the risks. The work there truly is a huge necessity both for their country and the rest of the world. Wishing him the best of luck on their voyage.

Fancy that: another snippet of news from the largest war in Europe since WW2! And this while the BBC is fighting its own heroic battle against the advanced stages of IAD (Infantile Attention-span Disorder).
Hats off to the heroes on its editorial board, who—despite the absence of their own spines—struggle to salvage what they can from the steady flow of news from reporters who put their lives on the line every single day.

I heard that some of the Ukrainian merchant ships were mostly shot by Russian ship missiles

Sierra Leone Flagged bulk carrier Razoni being first one out escorted by a ukrainian tug.
Somehow not been hit by a missile that is a suprise to be sure.
Now onto the next of the bulk carriers.
