The Best Damn Movie Critic: VEEP

Показать описание
The new HBO comedy VEEP staring the ever funny Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a fresh new look on the political arena that is Washington DC. Lets take a closer look.
When first announced I was very excited. J L D, in a new comedy, a political comedy. What's not to like? First I thought the show would be like Spin City... a show I love very much Michael J Fox and Charlie Sheen era, but Veep is very different. More political, and far less "sitcomy". While the jokes are very political, you don't need to be a political science major to enjoy this comedy.
Julia plays Vice Pres. Salina Meyer to a President we will never see. Salina may not be the smartest woman, but she's tuff, quick on her feet, easy on the eyes, and she has a very strong supporting cast.
It's refreshing to see a comedy staring, while I hate very much to call Julia this, an older woman this is anything but a comedy about an older woman. The key for any actress to compete for laughs with the very funny men of comedy is to not hold back. Julia has shown for the past 20+ years that she's not afraid to look silly, for a good laugh.
Here in this clip... We see Salina has a bit of a digestive problem...
It takes a true talent to make a good diarrhea scene look believable, and funny.
Julia has given us years of laughs, from SNL, Seinfeld, New Adventures, Curb, and now Veep. She's showing us that she is a true legend of television comedy and should be listed along with Lucy, Mary Tyler More, and Betty White.
My only hope is that HBO asks Salina to serve another term.
