This is my favorite true facts video hands down.

“Imagine a color you can’t even imagine. Now do that nine more times. That is how a mantis shrimp do.”

“…which explains why it dresses like an idiot”

“Just like the modern clown it has a psychopathic killing instinct”

Every line from the original video is pure gold!

I’m convinced those things are in fact aliens that have successfully integrated themselves into the ecosystem without us noticing.

I love how Zefrank has evolved over the years from a guy impersonating Morgan Freeman and giving fun facts about animals to a legitimately informative but still very funny content creator

Imagine having to wipe your eyes instead of just blinking.

My favourite line from true facts ever was about the mantis shrimp being able to punch so quickly the water boils getting out of the way “that’s some mortal kombat finishing move shit right there”

This animal is definitely one of my favorite. First time I heard about was because of its punch and how powerful it is. Then it’s unique vision and the amount of color it can perceive compared to us and other animals. Such a cool animal :)

This popped up in my notifications today, and so did my pictures of one from an aquarium a few days ago!

Which is really fitting because these guys and lobsters are my favorite animals!

I’m glad my eyes don’t make 6 pictures together, that would make my double vision way worse!

The eyes of the mantis shrimp are one of the most advanced, because they are on the far front of their face.

This is the original video that introduced me to Zefrank many years ago! Still one of my favorites!

Mantis shrimp eyes and praying mantis eyes: the two sets of eyes that freak me tf out. Horror movie alien shit right there.

Thanks to zefrank for introducing me to these wacky guys all those years ago. Still my favorite animal to freak people out with, tied with the bigfin squid.

Humans have three types of cones, blue, green and red. Mantis shrimp have twelve.

Some of us that are advanced in our years like sexagenarians wear trifocals, but that's just this man'sdiss differential POV thinking. Precoffee- mode

I just now realized that those black spots on the eyes, which until now I presumed were holes, are just reflections. Mantis shrimps are truly mysterious and amazing. Or maybe I'm just an idiot.

we have two eyes yet we don't perceive the separation. It stands to reason that animals with multiple or split eyes are the same. Only perceiving of one image.
