Apophis is expected to pass Earth on Friday, April 13, 2029, at a nominal distance of 19,662 miles (31,643 kilometers). On April 13, 2029, when the stadium-sized asteroid 99942 Apophis passes uncomfortably near to Earth, a team of South Korean scientists plans to greet it in space and return a sample to Earth.

Note: Even if their calculations show that it will hit Earth in 2029...do you honestly believe they will tell the world? We will find out the truth in 2029?

If the asteroid passes through a "keyhole" gravitational location that are found near planets, moons and even the sun, its trajectory can be changed... even a tiny change can make a huge difference...

The fact that April 13th 2029 is Friday the 13th is quite concerning…

I really hope they do get reliable data about this.

But there's almost no chance it misses Earth when Earth's gravity pulls the asteroid in or it changes course because this is just the right time for Wormwood to hit the Earth, and it will make the waters bitter and many animals and people will die from Wormwood's poison.

Heard someone that had a near death experience said they saw it hitting in 2029

19, 000 miles isn’t all that far away. Wonder what’s trailing it.

An object that size passing inside the Moon’s orbit would either get locked into orbit, or pulled into a collision with Earth. Who the h*** are they trying to fool?

Finally my question has been answered. I've been asking on so many videos if anyone (NASA or any other agency) is planning to try and land something on it to bring a sample back to earth.

the only real risk is that as it passes so close to earth, the asteroid's orbit might change a little and result in more possibilities of impact in the next approach in 2036

If there is already huge distrust over COVID, vaccines and mandates now, who will trust any government mouthpieces that try to calm or inform people then? Even if it would be 100% true that it will not hit the earth, doubts and government distrust, economic and environmental fears could crank up anxiety, terror and lawlessness like we have never seen before.

I wonder if you could send mining and manufacturing equipment to a near earth rock and basically turn it in to a space station or maybe even a ship . I mean you could put people inside it and cosmic radiation damage would be shielded and im sure with some of our newer space tech we could use what is mined for parts and fuel . Maybe people are on to this already im not sure but we do need to do something like this someday soon.

If it doesn't hit 2029 then 2024-2036= -9 years to go and counting! Why do I not believe the scientists that it won't strike Earth? Because our Earth's gravity will pull Apophis closer to Earth thus changing its orbit to come again even closer to Earth in 2036!!! I'll be watching that!!!

...and what if Earth's and/or the moon's gravity cause parts of it to break apart as it approaches? Even a relatively small fragment would cause catastrophic damage. I don't see how you could predict that.

If there is no risk now, why land stuff on it that can alter its path. 20miles is margin of error territory for something this far out, no?

There is no way they can guarantee this wont hit us. Too many variables
