You, seem to have forgotten how distant we are from the 1960s and 1970s. We are about 2 1/2 times further from the 1960s as they were from WWII. There are many many SCOTUS decisions that have widened our rights under The Constitution. Even Miranda was not solid law at the time. Courts argued over how hard the lines should be drawn.
