Telling my Son ancient history stories is what got him in love with history. He loves everything about ancient history.

The real problem for the Ottoman Empire was that they discover oil in what is now north Iraq and England found out about it.

It's completely true: scientific development and the philosophical background were blocked in the Ottoman, especially just after they conquered the Middle East.

They ran into the problem of ruthless criminals with a lust for power, raw materials and riches

Innovating too quickly is what we are facing right now in society- I’m not saying anyone should try to stop it, although many are trying. But we need to consider how the transitions affect the workforce and retrain people. It is terrifying for many to find themselves mid to late career and realize they are going to be obsolete.

... We have that same problem today...

When the Ottomans were at the peak of their power and even almost captured Vienna they banned usage of the printing press to prevent new ideas spreading uncontrolled.

From there on the empire declined and finally collapsed in WW1.

...they just got too comfortable by 18 century, and begin to decline in the 19th. When the giant fell into slumber, rats will start gnawing, fungus decay his flesh ..and he did not realise it untill its too late.

Empires rise and fall and yes one of the reasons were not being able to keep up with modernization. But at the peek of their powers a different force

Regarding Mathematics, science and philosophy there is one thing undeniable
And that is

We all can say and assume after the time passes for the truth only time will tell. However what is meant to be will happen regardless of what we assume or speculate.

there were many problems and one of them was national movement after french revolution. Because Empire had many different religions and nations in their land and they were late to make a commen term for people who live in Empire. First they tried to do under ottomanism( It is like who lives in the empire is ottoman) but that one failed( Some christian like nations did rebel and gain freedom) then they tried it under islam but that one also failed( arabian rebel) then they tried it to under being Turkish. This was too late to save Empire but helped to build new republic and keep the new republic without any civil wars for century.

The answer is yes, it does distract from "religious truths, " it actually leads one to the fact that these truths may exist outside religion altogether
