The left's obsession with identity politics has brought on an interest in identity politics of a right-leaning sort. I never considered my natural group loyalties and priorities as a northern European male previously, being content with a feeling that skin colour is only skin deep and it's only a question of upbringing and culture. I now believe that this is objectively false and that people are not interchangeable. I suppose I ought to be grateful to them for this awakening.

Very strangely for me given how right wing I am I was a fan of Tony Benn and used to listen to his diaries on BBC R4 back in the day. I then went to see him in an evening with Tony Benn about 20 years ago or so. The theatre was packed, he was funny, articulate and very pleasant. He had a cup of tea and chatted with the audience at the intermission and afterwards took questions and was in no rush to get away. One of the genuine politicians in my lifetime. As for Owen Jones, he needs to be ignored totally.

My favourite Owen moment to date is when he had his Queeny hissy-fit Strop and stormed (minced) off of the stage when sat next to Julia HB, always makes me laugh that. Ooooh get her! 😆

Agree with pretty much everything he said but he was bemoaning the chronic lack of housing in our country without mentioning what we all know is the reason for this.
I guess this would have been touched on later in the interview.

You have to be in tune with what people are concerned about he says and never mentions mass immigration with is the cause of more than a few of the issues he did raise.
