Barn Find Rescue | Massive Field Find

What's this? Have UK Barn Finds gone all 'urbex'? Have Elton and Claire really decided to become urban explorers?

No, but we were invited to witness a field-find collection of classic cars that were saved from going to the scrapyard many, many years ago. How could we say no?

What a privilege it was to see these cars and to simply appreciate the fact that they still existed and hadn't become bean cans. Could some of them be saved and restored? Are they useful as parts cars? Please let us know what you think.

Of course, nothing is as straight forward as it first seems in our lives and Elton drops a bit of a bombshell on Claire. We need your help now....

Seeing so many recoverable classics rusting away is like an unpunished crime.

A field of memories and dreams. As an old Ford mechanic, I worked on these cars. The Transit Van caught my eye. Given the chance, I bet I could get it to Start. The 2.5 diesel engine was bullet proof. Thanks for the Memories Guy's. Made an old man's day. Big Thumb's up.

Wow, that's amazing, all left for dead. I haven't seen a MK1 escort on the road here in South Africa since the early nineties maybe. The panelvan even less, and there were so many in the day. Awesome finds.👌

I had my 1600 sport for 23 years. Wish I were there for an old Kent Ford. Vetri South African Indian 🙏🇿🇦🙏

Definitely a field of dreams and memories. Just amazing how they've stood the test of time and the elements. It's amazing how nature reclaims its domain. What a fantastic field find(s).

The Rover 200 BRM did well at auction to fetch over £1, 100. Well done.

I subscribed to your channel after watching your Allegro video. That was my first car back in the mid 1980s. It was an orange coloured 1.5 HLE. It was a 1981 W reg bought off a neighbour for £750. He'd just fitted a new clutch, too.

The only trouble I had with it in the 3 years I owned it was the pipe split on the Hydra -gas suspension fluid and it all pissed out, leaving the car tilting at a strange angle.
My brother done a temporary weld job on the pipe - extremely carefully - seeing as the fuel line run very close to it!

So after driving to the garage (slowly) they topped the gas up for around a fiver. I then ordered a whole new pipe which cost £28 - this was 1989.
I loved that car but eventually sold it in the early 90s for £500 and bought a Metro (what was I thinking?)

I'm enjoying going through your videos. I miss my days tinkering with cars. Just topping up my washer fluid every so often is all I seem to do nowadays. No more changing wheel bearings, fitting exhausts, or doing my own servicing. I leave all that caper to my local garage who is excellent and knows my Ford Fiesta diesel like the back of his hand and is completely 'mates rates' with any jobs.

Well done, folks, love the concept - clean up the property, get something [£££] at auction, and useful bits are saved. Great stuff. I hope Elton finds his dream car. Special thanks to Claire for the many hours of editing, always great content, and I miss you two while waiting for the next one.
